Omaru Farm | Cafe, Stay and Store

Welcome to Omaru Farm, where nature and love converge into a harmonious haven. Originally acquired in the early 1980s as a beef-growing farm by Swiss immigrant Addy Maurer, this picturesque retreat on Phillip Island embodies a long-held vision of serenity and tranquillity.

In 1996, Addy expanded the farm’s revenue streams by establishing an olive grove named OMARU after the indigenous term for a “beautiful view.” With 350 trees planted, this grove flourished over the years, enhancing the farm’s prosperity alongside its beef cattle.

Following Addy’s passing, his dedicated wife Rosie Maurer took the reins, overseeing the farm’s continued growth with remarkable success. Under her stewardship, the farm diversified further, boasting over 300 free-range chickens renowned for their exquisite eggs, coveted as far as Melbourne.

Perched atop Phillip Island, Omaru Farm offers breathtaking vistas of Western Port and the Nobbies area, adorned with pristine pastures and grass-fed beef. Rosie’s deep reverence for nature has blossomed into a multifaceted sanctuary, now featuring cozy accommodations where guests can immerse themselves in a genuine farm stay experience amidst unparalleled coastal panoramas.
